Switching Servers

Friday, February 29, 2008

Hello all;

Dark Recesses Press is switching servers. You may notice the site being a bit unstable over the next 24 - 48 hours. Hopefully it won't be much of a disruption though.

We were just not getting the necessary support from our previous host and therefore I felt this would be the best decision for Dark Recesses and the people we work with (and for).

Due to the loss of our site, some of our pages are out of date, such as the advertising page, but I will be updating the information on all of those this weekend.

I will also be re-instating our original e-mail addresses. Not to worry though, I will be forwarding all the submissions, contest entries and queries which have been sent. We will still require re-submissions as my old host site has not been able to offer any help in getting those back.

In the meantime, I once again ask that TIMOTHY MCDANIEL and SHERYL NANTUS please contact me at dark_recesses_press@yahoo.ca as soon as possible.

If someone reading this happens to know either of these authors, please pass along the request.

Thank you

Specific call to PDF authors

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Timothy McDaniel and Sheryl Nantus, please contact Dark Recesses at dark_recesses_press@yahoo.ca.

I have lost all contact information, and need to re-connect with you immediately.

If others have contact with either of these authors, please forward this message to them directly.

Your help is greatly appreciated in this time of re-building.

Temporary E-mail for submissions

Saturday, February 23, 2008

Hello everyone;

I have been struggling to get proper e-mail accounts set up, but I can wait no longer for these issues to be resolved.

Our temporary e-mail address for submissions is: dark_recesses_press@yahoo.ca (please note that is .ca NOT .com)

At last check, before losing our primary e-mail accounts, we had submissions pending from November 11, 2007 onward. If you had submitted anything to us from that time forward and had not heard a response back, I ask you now to please re-submit. If you submitted something before that time and did not receive a response it means we never received your submission.

If you know the original date of your submission, please include this in the subject line. Your subject line should look like this: SUBMISSION - DATE

If you have submitted to our DejaVu Horror Contest, please re-submit. Your subject line MUST look like this: CONTEST SUBMISSION

If you had submitted an art query, please resend this as well. Your subject line should read: ART QUERY

Please note that we have lost ALL contact information in this e-mail mess, so if you are awaiting a response from myself or one of our staff, we do not have the information on file to respond. As such, any queries should be re-sent with the subject line that contains: QUERY

JM MCDERMOTT - PLEASE send an e-mail with your contact information.

I thank you for your patience and understanding during this technically turbulent time.

Major Technical Issues

Friday, February 22, 2008

I apologise for the look of the site. I have just lost everything for my site and am now trying to rebuild with random saved files.

Technically Dark Recesses is hitting a rather unruly patch along the highway, but we are still working and still moving foward. I will have new e-mail addresses set up shortly and once that is ready I will be requesting anyone who has submitted anything to us from November on (this is where we were at in our submissions reading) to re-sub. There will be additional information given at that time.

For now, I have to go and try to restore the site.

A couple of updates and information

Friday, February 15, 2008

Hello All;

The Techno-Gremlins are everywhere right now it seems. Dark Recesses Press e-mail appears to be intermittent at the moment. I keep all e-mails on a web-based server so that if my machine starts acting up (like it has been) I don't lose vital information. That said, I have not been able to access my account for two days.

If you have an important question that requires immediate attention, please send directly to nordikas@yahoo.ca and cc baileyhunter@darkrecesses.com for now. As soon as I know things are back to proper, I will post up another notice.

SECOND BIT OF NEWS

There is ONE fiction spot left for Issue #10 (July print issue). We are still open for PDF issues in between then and now. Also, I have space for ONE non-fiction article. Please query before sending in non-fiction work.

Thank you

Technical Issues Abound

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

To those waiting to be published in the February PDF and those waiting to get their eyes on it, please have patience.

I have run into some technical issues with my main computer system which has made it impossible for me to compile the issue. I am in the midst of switching the pertinent info over to my other computer and upgrading my programs. This is only a bump in the road and we will be up and running at full speed shortly.

I apologise for this unavoidable delay and thank you for your understanding.
